Setting Up Notion/Blog

Blog Rules

Only use your pen name in your blog posts!

Keep your drafts in a separate page from your live blog.

Make the blog yours. Use the template to get started, but customize it how you’d like.

Step 1: Sign up for Notion

Go to this website and sign up using your student email:

1: Type your email. Copy the code they send to your email.

⁠

⁠

2: Set your name and password.

⁠

⁠

3: Click “For personal use.”

⁠

4: Click “Clear Templates.”

Blog Stuff

Drafts/Ideas: This is a place where you can draft ideas for you blog. Once a piece is finalized, move it to your blog!

Actual Blog: Within this page is your actual blog. Keep the name of your blog secret from class members.

Inspiration: Use this page to curate all the cool stuff that exists in the world.

Goals, Logs, and Reflections

Goals: Use these goals to figure out what you want to do with class time!

Class Logs: You’ll use this to write down what you learn and do in class each day.

Reflections: Only do these when Mr. Merrill asks you to.

Step 3: Remain Anonymous

Set your “Preferred name” to your pen name.

Settings & members > My account > Preferred name

Set your workspace “Name” to your pen name.

Settings & members > Settings (Under Workspace) > Name

Change your “Domain” to your blog name.

Settings & members > Settings (Under Workspace) > Domain

Don’t set the “Icon” or “Profile Photo” to anything that would allow people to recognize you.

Allow comments so your classmates can encourage you as you write!
